We started the Collective back in 2014 with the idea that we could support coffee producers in their small batch experiments of really unique coffees that they didn’t quite have a market for (yet.) If they were not purchased on their own, many would be blended into larger estate or regional lots losing their unique flavor profile and individuality. These coffees were so special, and so delicious- we knew we had to find a way to share them with folks who would appreciate them.
There was never more than just a few bags of these coffees so it wasn’t quite enough for us to brew in our cafes or share with our wholesale accounts but it was the perfect amount to share with a core group of coffee nerds (and our longest and most loyal supporters.)
We modeled the Beacon Coffee Collective after a CSA (community supported agriculture) buying just what we needed to share with our members, and a little extra for growth. And as the experiments and harvests grew, so did our Collective. This was a truly amazing way for producers to feel supported in their experiments and investments in their farms, and we knew we would have a source of amazing coffee each year to share.
We have grown close with the families we work with year after year and have even taken a few members of our team with us to share in the experience so they can see just how much it takes to produce these incredible lots.
We think you’ll be hard pressed to find a Coffee Subscription quite like ours. Each fresh roasted release is different so you’ll never get bored. And with each coffee you will receive an email written by Jen + John with stories about the coffee, the farm, the families, tasting notes, brewing tips and sourcing photos from our trips. We will also include any pertinent info about classes or events we’ll be hosting.
The Beacon Coffee Collective is currently at capacity.
Please fill the form out below and we will be in touch when a spot becomes available.
