JENNIFER CEO + Founder
Jennifer has been working in the Food Service Industry for close to 30 years, and in coffee for over 20. Her passion for people comes through in maintaining our relationships with our farmers + producers, to building a team of coffee professionals that truly care about the process. She helps to share the stories of the farms, the world class coffees they produce and why it’s so important to have direct relationships with our partners.
LEAH Director of Wholesale
Leah is a seasoned service professional, with close to 30 years experience in Food and Beverage Management. She previously owned and operated a wildly successful bakery in Ojai with her family for over a decade. She is a natural when it comes to understanding and anticipating exactly what our wholesale partners need. Leah has been with Beacon since the Summer of 2021 and is dedicated to providing responsive, personalized service.
TESSA Barista + Trainer
Most of you are greeted by Tessa when you stop by for a drink. She welcomes you with her super friendly energy, and she'll always make your drink with care. Tessa came to us with no prior coffee experience - which is hard to believe when you see her comfort and skill level behind the bar. She has been with us since late 2021, and we are extremely lucky that she is part of our Beacon Family.
JOHN Chief Coffee Nerd + Founder
John’s passion is sourcing the highest quality coffee from some of the most talented producers in the world. He finds the exceptional offerings that have made Beacon synonymous with delicious coffee, and together with Jennifer, he travels across the world to cup thousands of coffees with our producers, hand picking beautiful offerings specifically for our retail customers + wholesale partners. He works hard behind the scenes to execute Beacon’s mission and showcase each coffee in the best possible light.
KELSEY Director of Education
Kelsey has over a decade of experience in the Specialty Coffee industry, in both Australia and America. She holds a postgraduate Certificate of Advanced Studies in Coffee Excellence from ZHAW. A previous barista champion, she is passionate about training, education and mentoring in coffee. She designs and runs our internal and wholesale barista training programs, as well as educational classes for the public.
JASMIN Barista
Jasmin started working for Beacon while she was in College during her summer and holiday breaks. She is full of energy and makes everyone feel comfortable and happy! We see her take care with each shot of espresso she pulls, and her milk texture and latte art are both beautiful and delicious! Jasmin works extremely hard and we truly value having her on our team, not to mention she constantly makes us laugh.
VIRGINIA Roaster + Head of Production
Virginia has been with Beacon since 2016 starting as a barista, quickly moving up into General Manager of our Ventura shop, helping build and grow our production department and is now our Production Roaster. She ensures our coffee is consistently roasted to a high quality. With over 10 years of customer service experience, Virginia is always prioritizing making people happy and ensuring everyone has an amazing coffee experience.
SIERRA Wholesale + Production Supervisor
Sierra has been with us since 2019, starting out as a barista and growing with the company. She has helped us to systematize our production department, working alongside Virginia to create efficiencies for inventory, quality and fulfillment. You can also find Sierra behind the bar a few days a week, knocking out world class drinks along with her incredible service. Her ability to straddle the two sides of our business is invaluable.
