The Reko washing station sits in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia. The washing station and mill were constructed in 2001 to service a group of roughly 900 small producers in the micro region. These producers have anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred coffee trees and all contribute to the Reko Mill mark's exportable lots. 

The Yirgacheffe growing region has historically been one of my favorite growing regions and I am so pleased to have this coffee back in our offerings. Ethiopia has experienced a great deal of unrest and internal strife in the past 5-8 years which has impacted the quality and availability of their exportable coffees. We are happy to report that this is the first of several Ethiopian offerings coming through the roastery this fall and that we have seen encouraging signs that quality and quantity of exports is on the rise. 

The cup is full bodied with tangy citrus notes. The coffee will shine in an AeroPress or your favorite Pour Over method. Make sure to drop your brew temperature just a bit when using your AeroPress. This will preserve some of the more delicate floral notes that might be missed with a higher brew temperature. 

All bags are 12 oz. Orders received by end of day Wednesday will be roasted and shipped that same week. If received after, it will be roasted/packed the following week.
